The Rotten Blood spares no one in the Festering Horde.
In some it rotted the flesh. In others, the skin. In others, the words. One or two it stripped of everything and left standing out of sheer inertia.
In Ugron it rotted the body. Not the head.
He is a black orc two metres nine tall, with a maul few could lift and a shield almost nobody manages to get through. He smells of pus. He knows it. He does not care.
But what makes him different is not his size.
It is that he thinks.
While the rest of the Horde comes apart in rage and fever, Ugron can still give a coherent order two sentences in a row. That is why, when Malakor is away, he is in charge.
Not for being the strongest, though he is that too.
For being the only one anyone can still understand.
His orcs follow him because with him, they make it home. They line up behind his shield and hold whatever comes, because they know Ugron does not send them to die for nothing.
When he roars, the Horde grows bolder. And the ones across the field, sometimes, feel their legs shake.
The more they hit him, the harder he gets. And what drips from his wounds is not only blood.
They call him the Wise and Brutal.
Nobody dares tell him which of the two is more dangerous.
Skills
As leader, he gives allies +15% Defense, +25% if they are Orcs and up to +50% if they belong to the Festering Horde.
A blunt maul blow that hits up to 4% harder for every Festering Horde ally. It sometimes leaves the rival Stunned.
Ugron roars and gains up to 40% Attack for 3 turns. At its peak, every rival rolls 1d20 and, on less than 6, is Terrified.
A single blow per battle that tears away up to 50% of the rival's Max Health.
Every time he takes damage he hardens: up to 25% more Defense for 2 turns.
His Maul and his Brutality have up to a 75% chance to leave the rival Poisoned.
He gains a Stench counter at the end of each turn (up to 10). Each one lowers by 5% the Attack of whoever hits him and the Defense of whoever he hits.
I asked him what made him different from the rest of the Horde. He took his time to answer. He said he still thinks before he hits.
