Kelgar Piedranegra does not talk about where he comes from.
He talks about what he does.
He gathered the ones nobody wanted. A quarryman who persuades obsidian with blows. A wall shaped like a man. A hunter who lives in the instant before the wound. A woman who stopped speaking the day the mountain swallowed her own.
Others call them Obsidia Warriors. He calls them his squad.
He stands over two metres tall and carries armour as heavy as an ox. Even so, in battle you never hear him coming.
You hear the greatsword coming.
He fights for no banner. He sells his steel to the Darkness because the Darkness pays and asks no questions.
But he has one rule that is not for sale.
When he points at an enemy, his whole squad goes for them. And when that enemy's armour breaks, there is no forge in the world that can close it again.
He is forty-nine years old.
And he has yet to find an armour his greatsword cannot open.
Skills
As leader, the Obsidia Warriors gain up to 35% Max Health and Shield. Enemies with Death Blood cannot counterattack them, and each of their hits on a Shattered Armour drains 50% of its Bloodlust (double against the Elyri).
Up to 20% extra damage. On 13 or more on 1d20, it leaves the enemy with Shattered Armour: no shield for the rest of the battle.
Up to 25% extra damage. If the enemy already has any Curse, Kelgar follows up with an assisted Strike.
Up to 30% more Defense for all allies for 2 turns. Also, a random Obsidia Warrior makes an assisted Strike.
Every time an Obsidia Warrior defeats an enemy, all Obsidia Warriors recover up to 25% Health and 10% Shield.
Every time Kelgar defeats an enemy with Death Blood, he gains up to 25% Attack for 2 turns, and recovers 25% Health and Shield.
I asked him why his squad follows him without asking questions. He told me it is because he has never asked them to go first.
