In the Black Thorns some swear that the first time they saw her she was already sitting in a corner of the guild, counting drops from a dark vial with the patience of someone who knows exactly what she is doing. Nobody dares say how old she was back then.
Nerys learned poisons before letters. She knew which root stops a heart in three beats, and which one does it in three days, long before she could write her own name. Now she uses that knowledge the other way round: what she learned to kill slowly, she uses to heal quickly.
She is fourteen and the youngest in the guild. None of those thieves would say it out loud, but they all protect her. One step too many towards her in the middle of a fight. A look that hardens. A dagger that appears where a second earlier there was nothing.
Torven won't let her take real contracts. Not yet. She nods, smiles and doesn't argue.
Because Nerys already knows every trick in the book. And among the potions hanging from her belt, the ones that heal and the ones that don't, there is always one vial too many that she never talks about.
Skills
Her basic attack, a little more damaging with every level. She is no warrior, and she doesn't need to be.
Restores life to an ally, more and more with every level. At its peak, the potion reaches the whole squad at once.
Wraps an ally in protection, thicker with every level. At its maximum level, it shields the whole squad.
Bottled luck. Depending on what the dice say, the enemy is stunned, poisoned, or the potion shatters and does nothing. At its maximum level, whatever comes out splashes every enemy.
The Black Thorns swear they protect her. Nobody has asked yet who protects whom.
