At the Sanctuary of Mourning everyone sleeps. Liora does not.
She has kept the night watch since the day she arrived, a spear taller than herself resting on her shoulder and her eyes fixed on the door. She says it is so that no one gets in. But she does not only look outwards.
She is the one who has watched Lyra change most closely. The nights when the priestess prays for too long. The mornings when her eyes wake with less colour than the night before. Liora has seen it all. And she has never told.
She does not keep quiet out of fear. She keeps quiet because she knows what would happen if she said it out loud.
So she watches. A little more closely each time. And when the Sanctuary wakes at dawn, the door in its place and the congregation safe, no one thinks of the girl with the spear who never closed her eyes.
She prefers it that way. A vigil that gets noticed is a vigil that has failed.
Skills
Her spear thrust, a little more damaging with every level. At its peak she rolls a d20: on 11 or more she strikes again and gains 30% Bloodlust. Once. The vigil allows no excess.
A blow measured to the millimetre, from 10% to 50% extra damage depending on its level.
Gives Speed to all her allies for 2 turns, from 5% to 25%. Allies from the Sanctuary of Mourning also get the same Defense.
I asked her what she was really watching over. She looked at the altar, not at the door. She did not answer.
