In the Sanctuary of Mourning they say Elyra does not listen to prayers. She listens to songs.
Elowen has sung for as long as she can remember. She sings beside the wounded, beside the frightened, beside those who will not make it through the night. Sometimes they do. Nobody in the Sanctuary dares to explain why, and she does not try either.
That is what the Sanctuary was born for: to help and to heal, under the white light of the moon. Blessed stags walk within its walls, fleeing from no one, and sometimes they follow her from one corridor to the next as if waiting for the next song.
For years she sang in the shadow of Lyra, the priestess who led the Sanctuary. Possibly the most powerful woman who ever set foot in Eldrath.
Elowen saw her raise those who would no longer rise.
And she also saw her fall.
She does not speak of it. Not with the sisters, not with the stags. But there is a song she no longer sings, and everyone in the Sanctuary knows which one.
They say her voice heals. What nobody has dared to ask her yet is who she still dedicates it to.
Skills
Her basic attack, a little more damage with every level. At its peak, it strips the enemy of all their Boons.
A blow that grows stronger with every level. At its maximum, a random ally joins in with an assisted Strike, and if they are Elyri, both of them recover health.
Heals an ally, more and more with every level. At its maximum level, if the dice are kind, the song stays with them for several more turns as Regen.
With Lumen at her side, Cantora holds out longer. If Albor is there too, she moves faster. The Sanctuary's stags never leave her alone.
I asked her which song it is that she no longer sings. She was silent for so long I thought she would not answer. Then she began to hum another.
