Bren was born in a woodcutters' village where children were handed an axe before a name.
He got both. The axe did not last.
At nine he ran off into the forest with a stolen bow and three crooked arrows. He came back a week later with a hare, a black eye and the aim of someone who had been doing it all his life.
His father took the bow away. Bren made another.
At seventeen he crossed paths with the Flock on a mountain road. They were wounded, they were tired and six men on horseback were after them.
Bren did not ask who was right. He climbed onto a rock and shot six times.
He has travelled with them ever since.
He is not the strongest. He is not the fastest. Not the smartest either, and he knows it.
But when someone from the Flock raises a sword, an arrow of his is already flying toward the same spot.
He says the trick is not aiming well.
The trick is knowing where the other one will be a second before they do.
Skills
Up to 50% chance that a random ally assists with a Strike. At its best level, if they are from the Flock, they hit 50% harder.
Up to 25% extra damage, and recovers up to half the damage dealt as Health.
Up to +10% Critical chance for each Flock ally.
I asked Bren to teach me to shoot. He handed me the bow, placed my fingers and stepped aside. I missed. He said nothing. He pointed to where the bird was going to be. It was already gone.
