Astrid Engranaje does not fix things. She takes them apart.
In the Ironforge Clan everyone learns to forge. She learned it backwards: first to take apart, then to understand.
As a girl she took apart the lock on the family forge. Then the whole forge.
She never put it back the same way. She put it back better.
She carries a huge wrench slung across her back and a belt with more screws than pockets.
To Astrid, anything that can be put together can be taken apart. A shield is a strap done up badly. A suit of armour, a screw too many.
She only needs to look at something for a while to know where it breaks.
She hits the way she works: no apparent order, but always where it hurts.
Hodrik calls golems blasphemy. Astrid calls them work.
When she runs into Engranius or Steelius, she does not see enemies. She sees parts.
And if a construct fights at her side, she repairs it without asking whose it is.
Kritch's traps do not last long around her either. A trap is just a small machine with a bad temper.
With her around, the squad moves faster. Dwarves, faster still: they know that if they fall behind, Astrid will adjust their boots.
In the clan they say there is nothing Astrid cannot take apart.
She says there is. A stubborn Dwarf.
She has been trying with Hodrik for years.

Frequently asked questions
Who is Astrid Engranaje in Bloodveil: Legends?
The artificer of the Ironforge Clan. In her clan everyone learns to forge. She learned it backwards: first to take apart, then to understand. She only needs to look at something for a while to know where it breaks.
What can Astrid take apart?
Almost anything. She pulls a piece out of a Construct and leaves it Stunned. She loosens the straps of anyone carrying a physical Shield and strips it away completely. And a trap, to her, is just a small machine with a bad temper: she disarms it.
How do you get Astrid?
By collecting her shards on node 16 of the Light path, in the campaign.
What does Astrid do in battle?
With Erratic Strike she hits Constructs harder. With That Screw Is Extra she lowers the enemy's Defense and, if it is a Construct, leaves it Stunned. With Loosen the Straps she strips all of the enemy's physical Shield and, at level 5, applies Shattered Armor. With Sabotage she lowers the enemy's Defense and disarms their Traps. All three Feats are melee and give her Bloodlust.
What does her Presence, Artificer's Hands, do?
It gives Speed to the whole squad, and twice as much to Dwarves. From level 2, at the start of her turn, Astrid repairs allied Constructs and restores part of their Maximum Health.
What faction is Astrid?
The Ironforge Clan, the Dwarves of the forge. She belongs to the Light. Hodrik calls golems a blasphemy. Astrid calls them work.

I asked Astrid whether there was anything she could not take apart. She looked at my chair for a while. Then she asked me not to stand up too quickly.
