In the Court of Dusk there are those who rule, those who scheme and those who bleed.
Corvaine Venn is the one who stitches.
He has served Count Malvorn for so many years that he no longer remembers when it began. He does not ask himself either. In the Dusk, some questions are good for nothing.
He is his acolyte. His trusted servant. The one who does everything.
He carries letters nobody should read. He opens doors nobody should cross. And when someone at Court falls, he is the first to kneel beside them.
Because Corvaine is, above all, the physician of Dusk.
He heals Malvorn's wards. He heals Eleonor's wards. Both sides, without distinction, with the same hands and the same face.
It is not compassion.
It is bookkeeping. A dead pawn is a wasted pawn, and at Court nobody wastes anything.
He carries a short, light sword. Almost nobody has seen him draw it. Those who have know where a physician cuts: exactly where it hurts.
He is fifty-eight years old, with hands that do not shake.
In the Dusk, that makes him the most necessary man in the room. Or the most dangerous. Malvorn has not yet decided which of the two worries him more.
Skills
A clean cut of a short sword, with up to 16% extra damage. It sometimes leaves a Wound.
Hits up to 20% harder. If the enemy already has any Curse, it also takes away Speed for 2 turns.
The whole squad recovers up to 20% of their Max Health. The Court of Dusk recovers more for each cursed enemy, and at its peak everyone gains Attack.
Every time an ally falls, the Court of Dusk recovers up to 30% of their health.
I asked him why he heals both sides. He looked at me as if I had asked him why he breathes. A dead pawn is a wasted pawn, he said.
